If you are an employer or a professional in Gujarat, you may need to register for PTEC and PTRC under the Gujarat Professional Tax Act, 1976. PTRC stands for Professional Tax Registration Certificate, which is required for every employer who employs one or more employees in Gujarat.

What are PTEC and PTRC Rates?

Professional tax is a state-level tax levied on the income earned by professionals and employees in Gujarat. The professional tax rates vary depending on the income and the category of the person. The professional tax rates for PTEC holders range from Rs. 250 to Rs. 2,500 per annum, depending on the income and the profession. The professional tax rates for PTRC holders range from Rs. 80 to Rs. 200 per month, depending on the salary and wages of the employees.
